Some people don't realize it,
but teachers can have an incredible impact.
THE PROBLEM: School comes with its own set of challenges. The difficult curriculum, social pressures, and changing perceptions of oneself. Not to mention, many students come to school every day bearing the weight of their struggles at home. How can it be possible for a student to be successful undergoing constant pressures and changes? The Solution: Teachers. Although teachers cannot really affect the home lives of students, it is very possible to encourage students in such a way that they feel they can be successful despite their circumstances, and even pave a way for those students to pursue their own passions and be successful in the future.
the question: How can teachers create a lasting effect on the lives of studentS? What is their role in students' success?
The answer is simple. A high quality teacher makes for an exceptional education. An exceptional educational experience provides many long-term benefits, but a passionate teacher with this experience makes these long-term benefits more personal. So, how can these personal relationships really have an impact on students' lives? Through actual experience with students, personal motivations, and so much more. (Don't worry, though! We will further explore this with a multitude of factual evidence and plenty of inspirational quotes)
MY GOAL
To make known the true impact that teachers can have on students, and to make known the legitimate significance of teachers, contrary to the widespread belief that teaching is a "last resort" career that has a single purpose of teaching material to a growing, learning generation. This research might provide an outlet into the development of teachers, so that their impact might be greater. Teaching goes beyond the textbooks and grading, and truly can make the difference in students' perceptions of their potential to be successful. Teachers truly are the first roads to a student's success in life, and it is absolutely imperative that we do all we can to maximize that success.
